Floral still lifes from direct observation. I draw my subjects quickly, often in fountain pen, and then add watercolour.
Because I work quickly, in one sitting, and my works are one of a kind, marks, smudges, and paint drips are an essential part of each work.
Lately I've been experimenting with painting on panels coated with watercolour ground. I find it more painterly.
